I was born and bred in the Rotorua region. I was schooled in Rotorua from Primary to High School. I was married but now widowed and we have four tamariki, ten mokopuna, and two mokopuna tuarua.

I continued pursuing education from a Pākehā and Māori lens after our tamariki left the roost. I completed two Bachelor's, one Master's, and on my last leg of Doctorate studies.

I have been in Early Childhood for under fifty years. This is where my passion lies. I like to share what knowledge was passed down to me to others who are willing to generate the knowledge. I finish with this whakataukī ‘Ahakoa he iti he Pounamu – Although small, it is a Treasure.
