E noho ana awau ki Tūranganui-a-Kiwa.Ko Christine Taare tōku ingoa.

We are enriched with a large extended whānau with many cultural traditions that we proudly share with everyone we meet. As a teen parent, my dream was to be the best parent I could be and I started my journey in Te Kōhanga Reo in Tūranganui-a-Kiwa.

I have had 26 powerful years learning how I can be the best version of me and ignite children’s love for learning. While I have worked in various early childhood settings, tertiary education and government, I currently work at the Gisborne Kindergarten Association.

I have been blessed to have studied with some dynamic caring teachers from Tairawhiti Polytechnic, Te Tari Puna Ora o Aotearoa, the University of the Nations Hawaii and Te Wananga o Aotearoa.

I love music and engaging with whakapapa.  I count it a privilege and honour to serve our ākonga and communities as a member of Te Rito Maioha’s council.

Nāu te rourou, nāku te rourou, ka ora ai te manuhiri.
