More than 150 early childhood teachers are graduating from Te Rito Maioha Early Childhood New Zealand over the next month.
‘Te Rito Maioha continues to do its bit to fulfil the need for more and more qualified early childhood teachers in New Zealand,’ says Chief Executive, Kathy Wolfe.
‘We are confident that all our graduates are well-prepared for early childhood education careers.
‘Most of our programmes require students to be working, at least part-time, in an early childhood centre. This enables students to ‘earn while they learn’ and immediately put into practice what they learn, which makes them attractive to potential employers.
‘What’s more, all our programmes are bicultural. This means that our teaching is informed by te ao Māori, and students gain a deep understanding of te reo Māori and tikanga Māori.’
Kathy says the graduations are a celebration of the commitment and dedication of each graduate.
‘The graduations are also a chance to acknowledge the support of family and friends in every graduate’s success. The stories we hear are always uplifting and inspiring.’
Te Rito Maioha has 11 teaching bases across New Zealand, from Whangarei to Dunedin.
