Biography

Role

Rachel teaches Te Ha o te kaiako courses in the Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education). 

Education background

Rachel has 17 years of experience as an early childhood teacher out of which she has spent ten years working with infants and toddlers. She feels passionate about Te Rito Maioha’s bicultural commitment which inspired her to take the role of kaiako after completing her study.  

Research background

Rachel's research focus is around parents’ experiences in early childhood education sector. She believes that infants and toddlers should receive quality care and education in an early childhood setting. 

Teaching interests

Rachel enjoys teaching her students about the phenomenal learning and development in infants and toddlers. She encourages tauira to associate their learning and experiences with the theorists and their philosophies.
