Role

Tapeka is responsible for ensuring a strong Māori presence at the Whangārei Takiwā Ako and a strong Tai Tokerau presence. She supports tautoko kaimahi and tauira of Te Rito Maioha.

Education Background

Tapeka is a pononga for her hapū and iwi of Te Tai Tokerau. She has been working as a kaiako in the early childhood sector from the last ten years. Prior to becoming a Kaiako, she worked as a public servant for the Ministry of Social Development.

Teaching Interests

Tapeka is passionate about tupuna and tamariki mokopuna.
