The story behind the patterns on our T-shirt
Our patterns utilise Māori visual iconography to represent the birth of an idea, through to the use of that knowledge by the individual.
The metaphor of flax is used to illustrate this. From the flax’s birth in water (the ripples), its growth (the ritorito shoot) and then its practical use (the flax net) and then growing our sector (the flax cord).
