Come and join us as we explore the following questions:

  • How do we honour Te Tiriti and our bicultural teaching practice in the current political environment?
  • What are we doing to uphold our bicultural values and principles in our teaching practice?
  • What can we do to further strengthen our Tiriti based teaching practice during turbulent times?

This event is suitable for any kaiako/educator/student teacher of tamariki (any age).

You will want to attend to hear how other kaiako/educators are navigating this space in their workplaces.

There will be lots of korero and sharing whakaaro which will support and empower kaiako/educators in your mahi.

You will leave with inspiration and ideas about how to actively engage in safe spaces within your workplaces and to engage in mahi which honours Te Tiriti and further strengthens your teaching practice.

Born into a whānau of teachers it was only natural to follow the same path, however unlike the rest of my teaching whānau I decided on the most important stage of a child’s journey, their early childhood. I have been teaching within the Early Childhood sector for over 15 years.

Presenter I’m Kath Cooper, a Gallup Strengths coach, Four Tendencies workshop facilitator, speaker, Inclusion advocator, Freedom2Focus retreat creator, and Emotional Culture Deck (ECD) presenter. The core of my work is to encourage individuals and companies to embrace their authentic selves through their Gallup Strengths, the Four Tendencies framework, and the ECD cards. I’ve worked with a range of people and organisations, from the CEO of a National museum (and the whole team) to individuals who want some support and guidance. When you work with me, we will work across your personal and professional life, apply the power of strengths and deeper self-knowledge, to help you commit to creating the changes you want.
