Madoka guides, supports and tutors our tauira in the Heretaunga area.
Education Background
Madoka’s background includes Education Policy-making, running Education Organisation (Japan), Special Education Teaching, Secondary School Tutoring, Adult Teaching and 18 years of Early Childhood Teaching in both Japan and New Zealand.
Research Background
Madoka is interested in intercultural communication and super-diversity has always been an interest of hers. Her Master’s research takes a linguistics perspective on these areas while her Doctorate research takes a cultural perspective guided by SCT and Critical Theory. Madoka is studying towards a Doctor of Education through Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington.
Teaching Interests
Madoka is passionate about supporting tauira’s positive sense of identity by providing strength-focused guidance and encouraging a tuakana-teina approach of learning to develop belonging.
