As Programme Leader of the Bachelor of Teaching (ECE), Vikki works alongside the Academic Leader to oversee the programme. She works with a committed team of lecturers kaiārahi to ensure the programme delivers effective teacher education to students.
Education Background
During her 20-year career in Early Childhood Education, Vikki has held many roles including teacher, Team Leader, Centre Manager, Lecturer and Programme Leader.
Research Background
Vikki’s research interests include risk-taking in the outdoors, outdoor play, leadership in early childhood education and assessment practices. She is passionate about collaborative, respectful practice, and distributed leadership.
Teaching Interests
Vikki is passionate about connecting theory to practice and sharing stories with students about authentic situations within the early childhood setting. She enjoys mentoring students and scaffolding their learning as they move through the various stages of study.
