Located near the Western shores of Lake Rotorua, in the township’s heart, and named after the esteemed ancestor Petera Te Pukuatua.Te Takiwā ako o Rotorua serves as a hub for learning and connections, embodying both the educational and cultural values of the community. We offers a space for discovery and engagement, making it a cornerstone for personal and communal growth in the region. If there’s something specific you’re interested in learning more about regarding our Regional Education Centre – please call in and say “ Kia ora”

Mai i Maketū ki Tongariro
Mai i ngā kurī a Whārei ki Tihirau
Ko Te Arawa te wakaInt
Ko Te Arawa te iwi
Ko Ngāti Whakaue mana whenua
Ko Tamatekapua te tangata
Nau mai, haere mai

Tūpuna Pūkakī, as the kaitiaki of your front entrance, signifies a revered guardian who welcomes visitors and protects the space. The kaimahi, life members, and kaumātua who adorn the wall of your teaching room also act as kaitiaki of the back entrance further emphasize the respect and honor given to those who have contributed to our community. This arrangement reflects a strong connection to ancestral heritage and acknowledges the important role of guardianship in our environment.

Just as the steam from the Ōuru and Pōhutu geysers rises and soars, individuals can also reach new heights with the support of dedicated mentors and educators. It emphasises the potential for growth and achievement.
